CastleBranch and tekMountain have made a sponsorship commitment of $100,000 to UNCW supporting WITX and the Cameron School of Business. The sponsorship demonstrates the company’s commitment to UNCW and the future of entrepreneurship and technology in the greater Wilmington area, according to Elizabeth Bloch, business development manager for CastleBranch.

Attendees of WITX will have the rare opportunity to hear from keynote speakers Don Burton and Mark McDowell. Both Burton and McDowell are renowned leaders in their respective industries. Speakers of this caliber at a Wilmington technology event is evidence of our city taking it’s place on the national entrepreneurial map.

“Don and Mark are influencing technology startups at the highest level on a national stage. It’s an incredible opportunity to have access to these talented thought-leaders,” CastleBranch and tekMountain CEO Brett Martin said.

Burton and McDowell will discuss the importance of embracing technology in our community. Burton, managing director of the Kaplan TechStars accelerator in New York City, will demonstrate the importance of investing in technology for early education, and how this investment helps engage our youth. McDowell, a North Carolina resident and co-founder of Acta Wireless, will examine how the digital overhaul of the 21st century will strengthen our communities, and make education more accessible for all, through the use of wireless technology.
