Leadership Wilmington recently announced that the Work on Wilmington initiative has been selected by Whole Foods Market as a beneficiary of a 5 percent giving day. On April 15, Whole Food Market, 3804 Oleander Drive, will donate 5 percent of that day’s net proceeds to the 10th annual Work on Wilmington event.
Members of the 2015 Leadership Wilmington class will be on hand at Whole Foods Market from noon to 8 p.m. April 15 to share information about Work on Wilmington, including how you can get involved by donating and/or volunteering, or how your nonprofit organization could benefit from this day of service next year.
“Work on Wilmington brings together individuals from a broad spectrum of Wilmington to join together to make the city a better place to live,” according to a news release. “Hundreds of local volunteers will spend four hours on Saturday, April 25, rolling up their sleeves to benefit 19 different nonprofit organizations and schools throughout the Wilmington community. This year’s projects include planting and renewing gardens, creating nature trails, interior and exterior painting, refurbishing playgrounds and a baseball field for local youth, building and repairing fences, and much more.”
