No one was injured in a drive-by shooting reported on Sixth Street near downtown Wilmington on Saturday.
Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 600 block of South Sixth Street, where three vehicles and a home were struck by bullets just after 8 p.m., according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay.
Several adults and at least 10 children were inside the home at the time of the shooting. The children had reportedly just finished an Easter egg hunt when the shooting occurred, Lindsay said.
Two people were inside one of the cars that was struck by bullets, but they were uninjured, Lindsay said.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Wilmington Police Department at (910) 343-3609 or through Text-A-Tip. Text CRIMES, then type Tip708 and your message.
