Drug agents seized more than 200 bindles of heroin last week from a home in the Ogden area.

Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office vice and narcotics unit executed a search warrant at 6604 Rowsgate Lane on March 25, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer. Drug agents seized 270 bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia used to package and repackage heroin.

The search warrant was the result of a three-month investigation into 28-year-old Robert James Bickford, who was reportedly using and selling heroin at the home, Brewer said.

Bickford was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking heroin, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny and three probation violations.

He was booked at the New Hanover County jail under a $570,000 secured bond.
