Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office are investigating multiple car break-ins reported in Ogden neighborhoods.

According to sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer, detectives are searching for the suspect or suspects who reportedly broke into vehicles in neighborhoods off White Road between March 24 and April 1.

“The suspect or suspects are gaining entry by breaking a window using a rock or brick,” Brewer said. Items stolen were in plain view and could be easily seen from outside the cars.

The sheriff’s office is encouraging citizens to notify deputies if there is any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods. Brewer also advised citizens to keep their driveways well lit.

Anyone with information about the vehicle break-ins is asked to contact the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (910) 798-4162 or submit a tip on the sheriff’s office website.
