Spring is in the air, and with it comes the return of the Riverfront Farmers Market this Saturday.

The seasonal curbside market, located in the parking lot on the corner of North Water and Princess streets, will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday from April 4 through November 21. The event will not be held during the N.C. Azalea Festival on April 11, or Riverfest on Oct. 3.

There, you’ll find a variety of produce, plants, flowers and herbs, as well as farm-fresh eggs, cheeses and meats. Vendors will also have seafood, honey, homemade goodies, pickled items, jams and jellies, wine and handmade wares.

Create as a place for local growers, producers, artisans and crafters to sell their goods directly to consumers, the Riverfront Farmers Market also aims to educate shoppers about local farming and seasonal eating, in addition to providing a social activity for the community.
