Seahawks drop 8-4 home contest to Tulane is your source for free news and information in the Wilmington area.

Stephan Alemais had two hits and two runs batted in and Tulane plated three runs in the sixth to break a 3-all tie as the Green Wave dealt UNCW an 8-4 setback on Tuesday at Brooks Field.

The Green Wave improved to 19-10 with the win, while the Seahawks dropped to 18-8 with their second consecutive loss.

Four UNCW errors led to three unearned runs as Luke Dunlap had two hits for UNCW, including a double. Nick Feight doubled and also hit his first homer for the Seahawks.

Tulane starter Patrick Duester (4-2) picked up the win going 5.2 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and three walks. The junior righthander struck out eight. Eric Steele picked up his second save of the season.

The Green Wave plated three runs in the sixth on just one hit to take a 6-3 lead. Alemais had a two-run single and came around to score the third run following a pair of wild pitches.

UNCW reliever Austin Magestro was tagged with the loss to dip to 3-2.

Joining Alemais with two hits apiece were Jake Rogers and Lex Kaplan, who both scored two runs.

The Seahawks open a three-game non-conference series with UNCA on Thursday at 6 p.m.
