It’s time to get your chic on.
Immerse yourself in the latest trends during the annual Wilmington Fashion Week, which is now underway.
The four-day event showcases emerging designers, homegrown innovators and a host of local creations at a variety of area eateries, bars and boutiques.
Festivities continue at 7 tonight with the Trendsetter Opening Party at Manna, 123 Princess St. Sponsored by The House of Panache in Raleigh, the party will also be Panache’s debut as an online retailer and fashion house. DJ Battles will wax the ones and twos for the evening. Tickets are $10.
On Thursday, area coastal outfitters and surf shops will preview the hottest looks for summer with a “Swim Suit Issue” live runway show. That show gets underway at 8 p.m. at the Wilmington Convention Center, 515 Nutt St.
An after-party will be held at 10 p.m. at The Blind Elephant, 21 N. Front St. Unit F, with live music.
Show tickets range from $20 to $50. There is no charge for the after-party.
Then fashion goes glam from 8 to 9 p.m. Friday with “Bold on the Runway” at the convention center. There, local retailers will show off the best looks in nightlife. An after-party is set for 10 p.m. at Satellite Bar and Lounge, 120 Greenfield St. Josh Roberts and the Hinges will perform. Show ticket holders get in free.
All day Saturday, shoppers can show their support for small businesses with “Local Love,” featuring deals from Wilmington stores.
Fashion Week’s big spring and summer show will go on at 6 p.m. at the convention center. The N.C. Designer Showcase Runway Show, featuring seven designers and local students from DREAMS of Wilmington, will follow at 8 p.m.
The week wraps up with a closing night party and awards presentation sponsored at Manna. Awards will be handed out for model of the year, best in show and designer of the year.
