The Seahawks return to Brooks Field following a brief four-game road swing that included the program’s first-ever trip to California. Due to the wet weather across the area this week, Friday’s opener has been postponed. UNCW and VCU will now open the series with a 3 p.m. start on Saturday. The two rivals will play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

UNCW enters the series with a 5-6 mark after going 1-2 in California with a win over Baylor and losses to San Diego and Pepperdine.

Heading the Seahawk lineup is junior first baseman Corey Dick, who totes a six-game hitting streak into the weekend series, while hitting .400 with a team-high 11 runs batted in. Also above .300 are freshmen Casey Golden (.355) and Robbie Thorburn (.343). Sophomore middle infielder Terence Connelly continues to recover from a slow start and has raiser his average to .345.
