According to a release from the Brunswick County district, students will start school two hours later on Wednesday. Staff there will follow regular work schedules.
In New Hanover County, the two-hour delay will be for students and staff.
“The record cold temperatures for this area show it being 25 degrees tomorrow morning with a wind chill near 15 degrees,” a district press release states. “The two-hour delay will allow time for school buses and heating systems to be checked, and allow any problems to be addressed.”
