An Ash man was recently arrested on multiple charges, including first-degree rape and first-degree kidnapping.
Richard Teremaine Gore, 30, of 5246 Marlow Road NW, turned himself in to the sheriff’s office at about 10:45 a.m. Friday, according to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Emily Flax.
Gore has been charged with first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation and assault on a female for an offense that allegedly occurred on Wednesday.
According to warrants issued May 29, Gore is charged with hitting a female victim, who is from Conway, S.C., biting her fingers and nose, and choking her with his hands until she lost consciousness, leaving bruises around her neck.
Gore has also been charged with driving while license revoked, failure to maintain lane control, and failure to appear on a misdemeanor for an offense on April 30. He has an additional charge of operating a vehicle with no insurance from an offense in 2012, Flax said.
He appeared in Brunswick County District Court today on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, assault on a female and assault by strangulation. District Judge Marion Warren increased Gore’s bond to $1 million.
Gore remains in custody at the Brunswick County Detention Center.
