The second annual Great Friend to Kids Awards will be at 8 a.m. Monday, April 22, at Shell Island Resort on Wrightsville Beach. The leading award for inspiration will be received in person by Vonta Leach, fullback for the 2013 Superbowl Champion Baltimore Ravens.
Four other awards will be given to individuals who have made an impact on children in southeastern North Carolina. Winners for curiosity, innate love of learning, imagination, and an unsung hero will also be announced at the breakfast to the unsuspecting heroes who have made a difference in the lives of children in the area.
If you would like to join Leach for breakfast and hear him speak on behalf of our children, contact the Children’s Museum of Wilmington at 910.254.3534 or buy directly online at http://www.playwilmington.org Tickets are $35 per person or $250 for a table of eight, which includes a signed football from Leach.
