Ashley 66 New Bern 47
The Lady Eagles went on the road and used a 16-0 run to start the game in a 66-47 win over the Bears in New Bern. Senior Breanna Edwards had a career-high 29 points while Felecity Havens and Jada Bacchus combined for 32 points in the win. Coach Adrienne Gale continues to mix up her lineup due to injuries and the flu for much of the season since losing starting center Morgan Davis to an ACL injury in the first game of the season.
“We jumped out to the big early lead and kind of fizzled through the rest of the game. We definitely continue to battle through adversity this entire season. We almost had as many people out tonight than we had in the lineup. We really continue to pick each other up night in and night out,” Gale said.
Ashley has now won nine straight games and are 12-3 overall, 3-0 in conference. The Eagles are back in action Friday, Jan. 25, at home against Hoggard.
