The ground level retail units at Barclay Commons have reached full occupancy, according to a broker in charge of the property.

Hill Rogers said Wednesday a strong third quarter is boosting retail leasing at the development.

“We have had an outstanding third quarter at Barclay Commons this year,” Rogers said. “We have built upon two long-standing tenant relationships to support their growing businesses as well as welcomed a new business.”

Perry’s Emporium has expanded its business at Barclay Commons with The Wedding Dress Shop at Perry’s Emporium.  While the space is currently under construction, Hill said the expanding tenant expects the business to open before Christmas.

Fixx Hair Studios has replaced the space formerly occupied by Adora Bella Salon.

And the investment management unit of BB&T, known as Stringfellow, is expanding its space to accommodate additional investment representatives.

Hill said construction should start any day now, but the lease has been signed for about a month.

Coworx, a facility offering turnkey work space, announced its official opening at Barclay Commons. The company opened on Sept. 14 and is renting long-term spaces starting at $475 a month.

According to Hill, there is one office space left to fill in the second floor office units.

Barclay Commons is a mixed-use development offering office and retail space located at 2516 Independence Blvd.

Cameron Management has been working with the Barclay development since 1998. It also works with spaces at Independence Office Park and the Ogden Plaza Shopping Center.
